Worldwide Information Technology Leader Cisco Joins the National Cyber Security Alliance's Board of Directors
Washington, D.C., Jan. 12, 2016 – The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) ‒ a nonprofit, public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online ‒ announces that Anthony Grieco, Senior Director of the Security and Trust Organization, will represent Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) on its Board of Directors.
Grieco leads the Trust Strategy Office and is responsible for the trust strategy, architectures and marketing that address Cisco’s customers’ cybersecurity needs. Trust, transparency and accountability are at the core of all the organization’s initiatives – targeting multiple audiences that include employees, customers and ecosystem partners. The Security and Trust Organization is responsible for protecting Cisco, its customers and its products with leading best practices and a holistic approach to trustworthy policies, processes, technology and people.
"Anthony and his team of international colleagues are devoted to creating products with a built-in foundation of security and trust,” said Michael Kaiser, NCSA’s executive director. “As cyber threats continue to be of critical global concern, Cisco’s steadfast commitment to online safety and security is a complementary and natural fit with NCSA’s mission and ongoing campaigns. NCSA is also encouraged by Cisco’s deep-rooted commitment to the future of cybersecurity. Both organizations are excited about the many possibilities and synergies that lie ahead.”
Cisco is dedicated to providing leadership in transforming how digital organizations securely connect, communicate and collaborate. As cited in the 2015 Annual Report, over the past year, Cisco has continued to power change while prioritizing elements of the company’s portfolio – cloud, security, collaboration, automation, and analytics – that are driving the most value for their customers.
“Everything the company sets out to do ‒ from securing our value chain, to building trustworthy systems, to protecting data and privacy and building a security-aware employee culture ‒ is done with trust and security top of mind,” said Grieco. “Cybersecurity is an ongoing journey, and we believe that by joining forces with NCSA and their influential Board of Directors we will continue to advance efforts to make the Internet safer and more secure, not only today but by setting a strong course for the future as well.”
Grieco joined Cisco in January 1999 and has held a variety of leadership roles in both development engineering and product management. He is a trusted security advisor to industry and Cisco customers around the globe. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
