Baylor University uses the help of its students to educate others about cyber security. Baylor gets significant backing from more than 65 undergrads majoring in management information systems and graduate and master's students majoring in security information. During National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Baylor directs class projects related to the campaign and presenting lectures from visiting cyber security experts.

Boston College hosts a free annual "Security Camp" for university staff in the northeastern U.S., and the overwhelming majority of its staff have attended a security training course. Along with a security table at the annual October Health Fair focused on "keeping your computer healthy," BC's Information Technology Services runs a variety of student cyber-security awareness activities each year during NCSAM.

Dartmouth College manages the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection (I3P) - a consortium of leading universities, national laboratories and nonprofit institutions dedicated to strengthening the cyber infrastructure of the United States. Dartmouth holds an annual conference on information security and sponsors dozens of research projects on the subject. Each year Dartmouth hosts panel discussions for NCSAM and this year offered a guest lecture by Andrew Cutts, Director of Cyber Security at DHS.

Indiana University's student interns are producing short, information security videos for its awareness campaign on the eight-campus university system. Indiana regularly provides education and training, backed by its strong involvement in EDUCAUSE.

Purdue University participates for the fourth year in National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Each year, Purdue offers one event per week on the topic of cyber security on campus. This year it produced short, educational videos and put out a series of webcasts that run October through December.
Rochester Institute of Technology

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) begins educating college freshmen about cyber security as soon as they arrive on campus. RIT is in its fourth year offering "Digital Self Defense" classes to all incoming freshmen. A focus this year on social networking sites hit home for many students. RIT also offers an online cyber security
class for faculty and staff.

The University of Virginia (UVa) used an interactive approach to promote cyber security awareness on campus last year - Information Security Analyst, Karen McDowell, hired a seamstress to create a fish costume, which she wore around campus to educate students about the threat of phishing. UVa recently installed monitors and an emergency alert system to increase security and communication.
