Join the National Cyber Security Alliance and Trend Micro during National Critical Infrastructure Month, where we’ll be discussing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
The industrial internet of things (IIoT) refers to the extension and use of the internet of things (IoT) in industrial sectors and applications. The IIoT encompasses industrial applications, including: robotics, medical devices, and software-defined production processes. The IIoT goes beyond the normal consumer devices and internetworking of physical devices usually associated with the Internet of Things (IoT). What makes it distinct, in particular, is the intersection of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). OT refers to the networking of operational processes and industrial control systems (ICSs).
Though the interconnectedness provided by IIoT enables faster and more efficient processes, it can also expose industries to threats.
During this hour, experts from Trend Micro will provide an overview of:
- The current state of IIoT use in the Industry 4.0 era
- Current threats targeting connected industrial sectors and applications
- How to mitigate Industry 4.0 threats.
We’ll pay particular attention to how small and medium-sized businesses are impacted by IIoT, and what steps they can take to enhance their security.
