Why did you want to join the board of the NCA?

Being a Cybersecurity professional with young children at home I feel a responsibility to help protect and secure for a better tomorrow.  I was drawn to NCA’s mission and programs it offers and am looking forward to being part of the future of NCA to continue its mission of empowering a more secure, interconnected world.

How does your company’s mission align with the NCA mission of empowering a more secure, interconnected world?

At TIAA, our vision is to Be the Change by delivering lifetime income for all with investments that build a better world. Our strategic pillars are focused on leading in lifetime income, delighting our clients and strengthening how we operate. TIAA’s cybersecurity program is a critical part of the strategy, and our team works 24/7 to protect customer data & accounts. Our organization also understands the importance of making Cybersecurity a community sport – we call it a WE thing. Our associates, customers, and partnerships across the industry – NCA included – are part of that community. We are all in this together to empower a more secure, interconnected world.

What is one way everyone can work together to improve cybersecurity behavior change?

We all need to do our part to continue to educate the world about Cyber threats and raise awareness.  Technology and connectivity are all around us and we need to focus on educating children from an early age on the best use of technology and internet safety.  With the continued demand for Cyber professionals, we also need to help demystify Cyber by showing people that there are multiple career paths within Cybersecurity and you don’t have to come from a technology background.  Its a WE thing – we all play a part in improving cybersecurity behavior and growing the Cyber professionals of tomorrow.
