WASHINGTON – May 31, 2022 – The National Cybersecurity Alliance today has announced that it has been named to the CSO50 2022. The CSO50 Awards recognizes 50 security projects and initiatives that demonstrate outstanding business value and thought leadership, and are judged by a leading panel of judges that includes security leaders, industry experts, and academics. The National Cybersecurity Alliance was recognized for the award for its Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021 campaign.

Hosted annually in October, Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a leading initiative geared towards boosting public engagement and knowledge of cybersecurity and its best practices. Launched in 2004 in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity Awareness Month has grown to become the NCA’s flagship annual campaign.

In September and October 2021, the 18th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month generated impactful results with individuals, industries, organizations and government agencies, both nationally and internationally. The National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) co-led the campaign, and drove engagement by sharing best practices via user-friendly materials, resources, research and live events.

“Cybersecurity is one of the most dynamic and complex fields in technology today,” says Lisa Plaggemier, Executive Director of the National Cybersecurity Alliance. “But consumers need to know that there are easy steps they can take to protect themselves, their families, and their organizations. At the National Cybersecurity Alliance, we are dedicated to making cybersecurity more accessible to everyone and inspiring individual behavior change. We work all year to drive awareness, but Cybersecurity Awareness Month is one of the biggest moments to educate and drive visibility of cybersecurity best practices with consumers and organizations of all kinds.”

Winners for the CSO50 will be recognized as part of the CSO50 Conference+Awards, September 19-21, National Harbor, Maryland.
