WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 28, 2023) — The National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA), the nation’s leading nonprofit promoting cybersecurity education and awareness, today announced it is proud to join RSA Conference™ 2023 (RSAC) as an Association Partner. NCA’s Executive Director, Lisa Plaggemier, will host a discussion with the Director of Amazon Security, Jenny Brinkley, on “Engagement through Entertainment: How to Make Security Behaviors Stick” taking place on Tuesday, April 25 at 8:30am at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. RSA Conference is the world’s largest global security conference, providing an unmatched platform for the industry to connect with colleagues about the latest technology and trends that influence and protect our interconnected world.
To help an audience today pay attention to what’s being said, they need to be offered something first. This also applies to cybersecurity content, like it or not. Can humor and drama be the sugar for the spoonful of cyber medicine? This case study-rich discussion will share how to best bring general market communications into cybersecurity instead of fear, uncertainty and doubt.
“We all know that cybersecurity training can be boring, and it can often be scary, but can it be…funny?” said Lisa Plaggemier, Executive Director, of the National Cybersecurity Alliance. “The truth is that nabbing and holding people’s attention is critical to behavior change and reducing risk. Jenny and I will explore data, research and case studies to see how pulling inspiration from Hollywood, Instagram memes, or even just the funniest person in your office can improve engagement with your content. You don’t have to be a creative genius. We will have straightforward tips on how to make your materials more entertaining and digestible, and we are incredibly excited to discuss these findings with the RSA Conference community at this year’s event.”
